No goals scored in Ďolíček

Special safety precautions secured a smooth match

Ďolíček have hosted a match between the home Bohemians and Banik Ostrava. They came to the holy grounds of kangaroos on Friday evening to play their 22nd round. Because of the current situation of both teams in a league table, everyone was expecting a difficult and even match which was fulfilled.

Both teams had to deal with security questions before the match itself because of what happened just a week ago during Banik’s home match against Sparta. The tickets could have been bought only through the pre-sale and with the ID.

Klusáček made only one change in a starting lineup. Jeremenko was replaced by Moravec. The start of the match was careful from both sides and even though both teams were fore-checking, no results were achieved from it.

Kangaroos have slowed down around 10th minute and Ostrava took the pace of the game. Minutes-long pressure in front of the home goal didn’t bring a success.
First half didn’t bring many goal attempts. There were several but little mistakes and inaccuracies assured the crowd that the scoreboard will stay same until the halftime whistle.

However, Lietava took the ball and wanted to do something with it just seconds before the time. Erich Brabec went from back to the middle of the pitch, sent a great pass through to find Lietava. He went one on one on the keeper, took a shot but it went centimeters wide.

Bohemians started better in the second half, they combined well but couldn’t create a bigger chance. And Banik was the first which appeared in a try. Bohemians lost a ball, Ostrava went into a counterattack, namely Štěpán. He went on the left side, found Krmenčík with a cross ball but Krmenčík’s header went right into Berkovec.
This moment made the away team alive again. One chance came after another. Krmenčík shot wide after he went around Brabec. Then it was Kukec who sent a cross to find Krmenčík again but Berkovec saved the situation.

Kangaroos didn’t want to agree on given role of a prey and answered immediately. Petr Nerad, the substitute, went on a run from the right side of the pitch, took a cross ball to find Kalina in the penalty area and Kalina’s shot was very close to the target. And Nerad appeared in another goal attempt minutes later and his shot was only observed by the keeper, but unfortunately went wide again. No goals have been scored and both teams are leaving Ďolíček with a point each.
