Slavia take the derby spoil

Bohemians faced the Vršovice derby for the 24th time in a history of separated Czech league. The match was accompanied with very tensed atmosphere which was given thanks to the importance of the match.

Both teams entered the match from a bottom of the league table and this fact reflected first minutes of the game. Inaccuracies on both sides, little movement, no bigger chances. That was a picture of first 15 minutes.

Fans were loud, the atmosphere itself was incredible but all of that was cut off during 16th minute. Vošahlík went through the left side, looked up for his teammates, sent an accurate cross ball to a penalty spot, Necid scored and sent Slavia into lead.

Bartek had a chance to answer five minutes later but Pauschek’s long ball from the middle of the field was not processed well by Bartek and thus didn’t get into finish.
Unfortunately nothing else happened during the first half. Slavia reduced their attacking activities and stayed at the back and kangaroos couldn’t get through the strengthened defensive line.

The second half started in a brighter light for Bohemians. Hora went around Smejkal and went on the away keeper. However, he decided to send a cross ball to Bartek instead of shot which was stopped by the keeper.

And Bartek was the one who appeared in a following chance. He dribbled with the ball, tried to hit it from a distance but the shot went over the bar.

The pace of the game slowed down and Slavia resigned and left the activity to kangaroos. Bohemians did not find the way how to deal with it and did not threaten the away goal.

There were not many chances, biggest probably was the one during 75th minute, when Kuklys got a pass from Lietava. Kuklys shot was only deflected by ex-Bohemians’ Škoda and the shot missed the target by only centimetres.

Kangaroos were pushing the defensive line of Slavia without any results and red and whites were offered few counterattacks. Juhar was leading a try but his resolution was not the right one and Jindřišek had no problem with it.

Slavia take the derby spoil and win. They moved up in the league table and Bohemians need a win from next week’s match in Mlada Boleslav. As Luděk Klusáček said: “We have to keep our heads up and believe. “
