Bohemians - Baník Ostrava 0:2

Baník wins at Ďolíček

The match itself looked attractive from the very beginning because both teams needed points thanks to their position at league table. Both teams started slowly, with a play in the middle of the field. The hard terrain added more of an inaccuracy and number of lost balls on both sides.

First hint of a chance came during the 4th minute. Bartek gave the ball to Mosquera, he sent a cross ball into the penalty box but Mikuš was defended well and Kouřil won the ball.
And Kangaroos also gave a chance to the away keeper to touch the ball few minutes later. Mikuš sent the ball to Moravec who took a cross shot which was bouncing however, keeper saved it.

Mosquera had another chance in 10th minute and the ball went just wide. At this time, the away captain was already substituted thanks to an injury. No chance came in next 15 minutes and supporters had not much to cheer about.

Lot of tackles and mistakes were present until 25th minute, when Kangaroos, respectively the left side, took the word. Mikuš appeared in front of the keeper, then Kalina found Rada who sent it to Bartek and for the third time, Kalina moved the ball to Moravec but the defenders made sure he won’t shoot.

Francis Narh was the first to attack a goal in the second half. Gajič was controlling the off side trap, but Škerle passed the ball wrong, gave it to Narh who went one on one with the keeper. Fortunately, he did not hit the target.

Away chances followed, until the 65th minute when Kukec moved a high ball over Pauschek. Francis Narh, sliding, sent a ball to the net and changed the score to 0:1 for Banik.
And it got even worse. A long corner kick found Štěpán, he sent it back with a header to the penalty area. Frydrych jumped, and with a slight deflection, waved the net to enlarge the score difference to 0:2.

The time went by, Kangaroos couldn’t create much of a chance. Mosquera was taken down in one of his tries but referee, after a good 20 seconds deciding whether it was a penalty tackle or not, told him to stand up. Jindřišek’s shot went two metres wide and thanks to a slide by defending Gajič, the score stopped at 0:2.

The fight for relegation position came better for Ostrava and Bohemians have to look forward for the next game in České Budějovice.
