Points split in the Prague derby

Sunday afternoon of the matchday 14 was hosting the Prague derby between Bohemians and Žižkov.

The Kangaroos started actively and kept the ball for most of the time but Žižkov’s defense was tough as wall and did not let Bohemians to create any bigger chances. The first big chance came after 15 minutes of play when Bartek dribbled well around three players and prepared the ball to Petr Nerad who took a shot and the keeper showed a reflexive catch and with a bit of luck caught the ball.

Petr Nerad also appeared in the other chance. The shot he took from the distance in 28th minute was just wide.

The end of the first half was of a big pressure for both teams. The tension was noticeable and the referee let the game continue without any stops, even that some punishable tackles were made. The halftime was without any goals and players left the pitch scoreless.

The second half started with a substitution. Vladimíra Bálek was replaced by Martin Jirouš The first ones to score were for Žižkov. Richard Kalod got a great cross from the middle of the pitch and took a shot under the bar of Sňozík’s goal changing the score to 0:1.

But Bohemians didn’t give up. Moravec didn’t score after his shot and Jirouš’s first shot was also ineffective but then few minutes later, Jirouš appeared in the penalty box, got a pass and headed the ball into a goal and scored so-needed equalizer.

The rest of the match showed many chances by Bohemians. Pavel Vyhnal had two of them. First came after Rada’s cross and the second after Bartek’s pass when Vyhnal got 8 meters from the goal but hit the keeper.

The last chance of the match was by Josef Jindřišek who attacked the goal from the corner kick.

Bohemians drew 1:1 with a team from the 4th place of the league table and moves down to the 3rd place, right behind HFK Olomouc which is also our next opponent in a week time.
