Bohemians lost in Prague derby

The 28th round was played away, but not as far as usually. Bohemians played in Prague against the team from Žižkov. The win would mean the definite promotion back to the top Czech league.

However, the opponent was against it. They started actively, the former Bohemians player Kotyza crossed the ball in 5th minute, hit the head of Richard Kalod who executed it and scored. His goal celebrations were not appropriate and Kalod got a yellow card.

Just 10 minutes later, it was Kotyza again who crossed the ball towards Kalod, Jindřišek intercepted it and unfortunately sent the ball to his own net. The Kangaroos were losing 2:0 after a quarter of an hour.

The rest of the first half was in hands of Bohemians but it didn’t bring any goals. The first chance was by Budínský who shot from an angle but his shot was stopped by the home keeper Boháč. Cseh’s header in 18th minute missed the goal by few centimetres.

Bohemians showed what is possible to miss. Moravec got the ball on the edge of the penalty box, passed it to Štochl; he sent it to Jirouš who missed the ball in front of an empty net.

More chances came after the corner kicks. Budínský found Bartek, who shot wide, then it was Rada at the end of the first half who passed the ball to Jindřišek but he missed the target.

The second half started actively by Bohemians. Their will to change the score was visible. But the red and white wall was just too strong.
Štochl took a position of the attacker, Bálek joined him and Jirouš was substituted by Petr Nerad. Even though changes have been made, it wasn’t enough. Most of the chances came from free kicks. Rada tried to surprise the home keeper from a free kick in 65th minute but the keeper boxed it away, two minutes later it was Jindřišek who tried the luck. Nobody deflected the ball and it skimmed through the defense to nowhere.

Moravec and Budínský appeared in more chances around 80th minute but Boháč saved everything and didn’t let any change of the score.

The match in which Žižkov had only a single shot on goal ended 2:0 and Viktoria postponed our celebrations of the promotion.
