Brno showed no mercy

Second round was played in Brno. It was a second match in a row played away and Bohemians started with a same line up with just one change. David Bartek was replaced with Radek Šírl.

The first bigger chance came from the left side of the pitch. Jan Moravec got the ball, passed it to Rada, then to Kolář who sent a ball through to Kalina who got the lead for Bohemians.

But the score advantage didn’t last long. After 15 minutes of play, Mohamed Traore went through the defenders and sent the ball behind the keeper’s back. 1:1.

The players were getting tired soon because of the terrible heat and the pace of the game got slower. Next bigger chance came after another 15 minutes. First of all, it was Kaščák who missed the target. Just second later, it was Markovič who got through 4 defenders. However, Havránek saved his shot.

The last chance of the first half was also in hands of Zbrojovka. After Šírl’s tackle, Brno appeared in a dangerous free kick. Pavel Zavadil hit the wall of defenders and Husar repeated it just seconds later. The first half ended 1:1.

The second act started with Kalina’s shot but that was all what Bohemians showed for the rest of the match. Zbrojovka took the game in their hands and didn’t let Bohemians to create any chance.

After ten minutes when Kolář lost a ball, Pašek crossed the ball to the penalty area and Markovič scored from a first touch. It was his first scored goal under Brno. After 60 minutes of play, Šmíd tackled the attacker in a penalty box and the referee pointed at the penalty spot, Zavadil scored and the scoreboard said 3:1.

Bohemians could not get the ball out of their defensing zone and lying Pašek scored in a 69th minute. The crowd was asking for a fifth goal.
And it came 12 minutes before time. Markovič got a cross from the middle of the pitch, got rid of Šmíd and face to face to a keeper decided the final score of 5:1. The standing ovations of 5000 people helped Bohemians players to leave the pitch after conceding 5 goals in a second consecutive match.
