Bohemians draw 0:0 with Brno

A team from relegation position came to Ďolíček with a series of 5 consecutive losses. Brno came to Prague with an obvious target; to gain points.

And the match started in that way. The Moravian team began actively and fore-checked the kangaroos deep in the home team half of the pitch and the green & white team couldn’t find a way out from the ongoing situation. However, the pressure didn’t bring any success because the final phase was missing its quality.

Bohemians had some difficulties thanks to the lack of movement and many unforced errors and when they finally got into a chance, it was from a free kick. Jindřišek showed one of them during the 14th minute when he curved it from the left side but the shot was missing just centimetres.

Moment later it was the away team which got a chance for a score changer. Sýkora ran for a fast pass and touched it slightly, sending it towards Vávra who appeared behind the defending duo Cseh – Krch. The ball was rotating towards the goal and the keeper decided not to run towards it. At the end the indecisiveness of the attacking player decided when he slowed down in front of the keeper and Švenger had time to kick it away.

One more chance have managed to fit in the first half. Mikuš got a ball after a throw in, gave the ball to Mosquera. He touched the ball with a first touch, prepared it on his second foot but unfortunately the defending player got there on time and Mosquera didn’t finish it.

First half didn’t bring much from a football world, most of the chances have ended before the edge of the penalty area. The second half was very similar.

Moukanza brought some excitement during the 65th minute, but his run was stopped by the defending duo and Švenger had not much to do.

There were even less chances than in the first half. Brno resigned with pressing and were dangerous only from counterattacks but the defending line was sure and the chances were ended just after they were created.

The greatest chance of the match came in 82nd minute. The corner kick was flying into a penalty area and Švenger boxed away the header which was aiming in. The ball was then deflecting from a foot to another until Slančík wanted to finish it with a bicycle kick. However, his try went over the bar.

The rest of the match was under the control of Kangaroos but the away half was locked for them and so both teams took one point each. It was a first point for Brno after five matches, Bohemians were waiting three matches.
