First away win of the season

Jihlava – Bohemians 1:2

First away win of the season

Bohemians left Prague without Jirásek, who was awarded a 4th yellow in a previous match and Hubínek replaced him. It was Čížek who started off from the top of the offense. Pivarnik announced that this match will not be existential depending on the result of yesterday’s match of Boleslav x Olomouc. The result was expected and Kangaroos could enter today’s match with a certain level of calmness.

The match started off with many mistakes and most of the game was happening in the middle of the field. There were more yellow cards awarded than chances in first 30 minutes of the game. Boring game was cut off with Hronek. Firstly, he crossed the ball to Bazal but his team mate wasted the chance but then, just a minute later, he got to the edge of the penalty box and took a shot to hit the right top corner of the goal and sent Jihlava into lead.

Bohemians had to attack and managed to score immediately. At first, Mosquera found Acosta who gave a chance to the keeper with his volley and he deflected the ball to the corner. Čížek played the corner, passed the ball to Svec, he crossed it and found Šmíd, who lobbed the ball with a header over the keeper and into the net. Both teams entered the cloakrooms with a score leveled.

Kangaroos got into the second half fast like a wind and they pressured Jihlava in front of their goal. This paid out in 54th minute. Never-too-old Čížek dribbled the ball from a half line, around 4 players and into the box, he passed the ball to Hubínek who stood alone in front of the keeper. He chose the back post and sent Kangaroos into the lead. Bohemians continued with the second half trend and more chances came.

Akulinin replaced Čížek for last 30 minutes and Kangaroos, not only because of the substitution, got under pressure. This resulted into a dangerous header from Krejci which was saved by Zlámal. Jihlava had the possession and was sending one cross ball after another but Bohemians knew what is effective. The last chance of the match was for Bohemians. Mosquera found Acosta with a cross, Acosta however didn’t put the ball in, behind Hanus’ back. Kangaroos won away for the first time this season and they count important points into the table to make it 8 points clear from relegation position with only 4 matches to go.
