Bohemians fans invaded the beer capital of the Czech Republic expecting the first win of their team.  The club’s management contributed to their optimism by acquiring two forwards a few days prior to the game - Michal Polodna from Příbram and Michal Ordoš from Mladá Boleslav.  Bohemians’ outlay was reported to be about 5 million Czech crowns for both players.

The first half of the game was disappointing as both teams struggled. There were some scoring chances but no one seemed to be able to capitalize on them. 

The second half was more interesting to watch.  Plzeň’s coach, Stanislav Levý (former Bohemians great), prescribed his team a more offensive approach.  When it appeared that the worst was over for Bohemians and the game might end up in a draw, Plzeň scored.  Ironically, it was probably the hardest working Kangaroo, captain Slezák, who lost the ball and this turnover led to the opening goal of the game.

Bohemians were forced to press for an equalizer. Plzeň took advantage of openings in Bohemians defense and created some scoring chances; one of them resulted in the second goal in Bohemians net.
